About Adoption Services

About Adoption Services Inc

We started this agency because we saw a need for pregnant women and birth mothers to have a place to go for help, no matter whether they were planning on placing a child for adoption or whether they simply needed someone to help them find information and resources that would allow them to lead safe and happy lives.  We do this because we care about women and children.

You can also be assured that if you are looking to adopt a child that we will do our very best to make sure that all parties involved, you, the birth mother, the birth father and the child are well taken care of and that we will be there with you not just during the adoption process but as long as you need us, even if that is many years down the road.

About Us

As a non-profit adoption agency licensed in multiple states, Adoption Services is able to help an adoptive family living anywhere in the U.S., and even in a foreign country, to adopt a healthy newborn, infant or child.

We have completed approximately 1,000 placements with families from all over the United States and in many foreign countries. Our overall satisfaction rating by adopting families (and birth parents) is excellent. Many of our adoptive families have provided us with testimonials that are available by mail and on this website.  Additionally, our excellent record can be checked with our primary licensing authority (telephone # 717-772-7702) and with a variety of professionals and adoptive families.

Click here to read your states adoption laws.We work hard to see to it that your waiting time is as short as possible, that the child you adopt is healthy, that there will be no legal "slip-ups" or surprises, and that once the child adoption has been completed, that your happiness and satisfaction are assured.

At Adoption Services we understand that who you are (e.g. age, marital history, financial and health history), why you have decided to adopt a child, the age and racial/ethnic background of the desired child, your fears and plans regarding adoption, and your expectations of our Agency, all form a set of unique parameters. No two families are alike.

Because we recognize that you and your situation are unique, we have dedicated ourselves to personalize and individualize our programs. We do everything we can to find as perfect a "fit" for you as possible.

Our founder and director, Vincent F. Berger, is a licensed Ph.D. psychologist with over 40 years of professional experience.  Dr. Berger has pioneered and developed programs of counseling birth mothers, birth fathers, and adopting families so that everyone involved in the adoptive process knows, right from the very start, everything that is going to happen from beginning to end.

We deal with each family as a unique entity. Our Home Study process and adopting family preparation are done with each family alone and we do not use a seminar or group approach.

Your calls are handled personally and individually. Your interviews and Home Study are handled personally and individually. Your child is selected personally and individually. And all follow-up services are, not surprisingly, handled personally and individually.

Our domestic program specializes in the placement of healthy newborns, infants and children from the United States. Our domestic adoption program uses a Fixed Waiting List instead of a pooling program. You can proceed with an open or closed adoption. You can meet the birth parents or not meet them. If you do meet, you can choose to share as much information as you desire.  In all instances, you decide how you wish to proceed, not our agency.

Our international child adoption program places children from China, Russia, Guatemala, Eastern Europe, and other foreign countries.

Please feel free to contact us, we will be pleased to help you and there is no obligation on your part.
