Help in defraying child adoption costs is available through both federal and state programs. The U.S. has the Family and Medical Leave Act, an adoption tax credit, and temporary
tax ID #s all to help those involved in a child adoption. There is even a federal law, the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993, mandating health insurance coverage for an adopted child. |

Medical help provides information on children's health related issues, information on many diseases and problems and advice from experts. You
will also find information on the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), health insurance coverage information in compliance with the Omnibus budget Reconciliation Act of 1993, and, in regard to international adoption, contacts for an International Adoption Medical Clinic. |
|
|
Child adoption support groups and child adoption internet sites exist to help you in the child adoption process. There are child adoption related support groups for adopting families involved
with a domestic adoption or an international adoption and other child adoption groups for those who have already completed the adoption process. |

We strongly advise you to get your adopted child's original birth records and adoption records. These resources may help you. You may also want to check the laws
of the state in which your child was born and the state in which the child adoption was, or will be, finalized. |
