Because We Care
|
Our Primary Goal is to Help Pregnant Woman and Birth Mothers
If you are pregnant or a new mother we are here to help you "regardless" of whether you are placing your child for adoption or plan on raising your child yourself. Our goal is very simple: Help pregnant women, new mothers, birth mothers and children in any way we can. With that in mind, you will find that we are doing everything to create the single
best source of information anywhere on the Internet to help you and your baby. This includes everything from providing resources to financial, medical and nutritional assistance programs in Monroe County, and across Pennsylvania, to information on the stages of pregnancy, where to go for help and even support groups. If you can imagine it, it is probably already
listed here. |
Who Are We?
|
You may be asking yourself "Who we are?" and "Why do we want to help you?". Please allow me to introduce myself. I am Dr. Vince Berger, the founder of Adoption Services. Please feel free to call me Vince or Dr Berger whatever makes you feel most comfortable.
The short version is that I got my Doctorate in Psychology
many years ago and began teaching at the University of Pittsburgh. I loved teaching my students but felt something was missing from my life -- that I was not helping enough people. I began working as a school psychologist attempting to help young adults. What I found shocked me. I was horrified to find that there were very few services or resources to help young women like you, who
were pregnant or had recently delivered their child. Women like you who were all too often alone in the world without help, information or anyone to turn to for help. I finally left teaching and (the short version) have made it my life's goal to help you and other women and children who need help While I established and run an adoption agency (non-profit), that is simply
one of the ways that I have been working to assist you and many birth mothers like you. My
overall goal is to provide you with all the information, assistance and counseling that I can to help you make the best choices for you and your baby. Of course, if you are looking to place your child for adoption I can help. But I want you to know that if you want to keep your baby that my staff and I will work every bit as hard to help you. Our goal is to help you and your baby. Period. |
