We know and understand that you may be going through a tough time emotionally right now and that you may need someone to talk to. With that in mind we have created the following list of adoption related support groups and websites for birth mothers. Each offers something a little different but all of them try to offer support, encouragement, and adoption related information. You can search these resources listed for Maryland and hopefully will find adoption information and an adoption support group that meets your needs. 

Do not be surprised if the list below provides limited adoption support group and support information for a birth mother or birth father.  It is just a reflection of the fact that not enough support resources exist.

Bmom is a birth mother support group, started by a birth mother, where you can talk about your feelings concerning placing your child for adoption.

Concerned United Birth Parent (CUB) provides support for a birth mother or birth father who has already relinquished a child to adoption.

Life Mothers was created by a life-mother (birth mother) to offer support, resources and compassion to all birth mothers.

Maryland Department of Human Resources can help you with issues of pregnancy, parenting, foster care, and adoption.

Pregnancy And Children is a comprehensive website that can help any woman who wants to know more about her pregnancy and about the child she has delivered or may give birth to in the near future.

The American Adoption Congress is composed of individuals, families and organizations committed to adoption reform. They represent all those whose lives are touched by adoption.

Yahoo Birth mother support group at is an internet site where you can connect with birth mothers of all ages and in all kinds of circumstances.  Birth fathers are also encouraged to join.
