Dear mothers and mothers to be we understand that bringing a child into the world can sometimes create a need for various types of financial, medical, nutritional and emotional assistance.  We want to help you find the help you need.  With that in mind we have created the following list of what we consider the best government, public and private programs that help people in your situation.  We do this because we care about you and your child.

Ohio has several state and federally funded programs that can help you if you are living in Ohio and are pregnant or are raising your child.  Please click on the links below for more details about the Ohio programs that can help you.

Ohio Breast and Cervical Cancer Detection programs in each state provide free breast and cervical cancer screening services.

Ohio Child Health Insurance Program provides free health insurance.

Ohio child nutrition programs include free and low-cost food, nutrition information, and preschool and school nutrition programs.

Ohio child welfare agency can help with pregnancy, parenting, and foster care.

Ohio Early Head Start can help you while you are pregnant and can help you raise your young child.

Ohio Food Banks distribute free food to those in need.

Ohio Food Stamp Program helps persons with low-incomes to obtain food.

Ohio Low Income Energy Assistance Program can help you is you are having trouble meeting your heating and cooling energy bills.

Ohio WIC provides free food, nutrition counseling, and referrals at no charge.

Ohio Department of Education can provide you with information about school nutrition, pregnancy programs, and developmental programs.

Ohio Department of Health can provide nutrition information and help as well as help with pregnancy and post-pregnancy concerns.

Ohio Medicaid can help you with answers about free services offered to you and your child.
