Dear mothers and mothers to be we understand that bringing a child into the world can sometimes create a need for various types of financial, medical, nutritional and emotional assistance.  We want to help you find the help you need.  With that in mind we have created the following list of what we consider the best government, public and private programs that help people in your situation.  We do this because we care about you and your child.

Pennsylvania has several state and federally funded programs that can help you if you are living in Pennsylvania and are pregnant or are raising your child.  Please click on the links below for more details about the Pennsylvania programs that can help you.

Pennsylvania Breast and Cervical Cancer Detection programs in each state provide free breast and cervical cancer screening services.

Pennsylvania Child Health Insurance Program provides free health insurance.

Pennsylvania child nutrition programs include free and low-cost food, nutrition information, and preschool and school nutrition programs.

Pennsylvania child welfare agency can help with pregnancy, parenting, and foster care.

Pennsylvania Early Head Start can help you while you are pregnant and can help you raise your young child.

Pennsylvania Food Banks distribute free food to those in need.

Pennsylvania Food Stamp Program helps persons with low-incomes to obtain food.

Pennsylvania Low Income Energy Assistance Program can help you is you are having trouble meeting your heating and cooling energy bills.

Pennsylvania WIC provides free food, nutrition counseling, and referrals at no charge.

Pennsylvania Department of Education can provide you with information about school nutrition, pregnancy programs, and developmental programs.
