Dear mothers and mothers to be we understand that bringing a child into the world can sometimes create a need for various types of financial, medical, nutritional and emotional assistance.  We want to help you find the help you need.  With that in mind we have created the following list of what we consider the best government, public and private programs that help people in your situation.  We do this because we care about you and your child.

South Carolina has several state and federally funded programs that can help you if you are living in South Carolina and are pregnant or are raising your child.  Please click on the links below for more details about the South Carolina programs that can help you.

South Carolina Breast and Cervical Cancer Detection programs in each state provide free breast and cervical cancer screening services.

South Carolina Child Health Insurance Program provides free health insurance.

South Carolina child nutrition programs include free and low-cost food, nutrition information, and preschool and school nutrition programs.

South Carolina child welfare agency can help with pregnancy, parenting, and foster care.

South Carolina Early Head Start can help you while you are pregnant and can help you raise your young child.

South Carolina Food Banks distribute free food to those in need.

South Carolina Food Stamp Program helps persons with low-incomes to obtain food.
