Early Head Start Programs


Early Head Start (EHS) is a U.S. government program for pregnant women and for low-income families with infants and toddlers. Early Head Start promotes healthy prenatal care for pregnant women, facilitates the healthy the development of young children and tries to create healthy family functioning.  Each of the U.S. 50 states' Early Head Start programs is responsible for determining its own eligibility criteria with income being a significant factor in determining eligibility.

Food Stamp Program  helps persons with low-incomes to obtain food.

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program can help keep you and your child warm in winter and cool in summer.

Medicaid in each state can help you with answers about free services offered to you and your child.

Unemployment Insurance benefits provide temporary financial assistance to a woman whose employment has been ended through no fault of their own.

WIC provides free food, nutrition counseling, and referrals at no charge.
