To obtain an Adoption Order in Trinidad and Tobago , prospective adoptive parents must contact the Adoption Board, which is the only organization authorized to process the application and make recommendations to the courts for legal adoptions.  Laws in Trinidad and Tobago make it illegal for any local persons or local adoption agencies other than the Adoption Board and or the Courts to facilitate adoptions.
