Medicaid programs recognize that good health is important to everyone, rich and poor alike.  If you are not able to afford medical care, you may be eligible for Medicaid. Medicaid does not pay money to you; instead, it sends payments directly to your health care providers. Your state Medicaid program can provide you with information about free or limited-cost health care for you and for your child.
