You and your children deserve to be treated with love, courtesy and respect. Not abuse. If you find yourself in an abusive situation you do have options. You can leave and find a safe place for you and your child at an abuse shelter where they can also give you help in starting your new life.

If the above websites are not enough, try finding local public and private women's shelters in your phone book or by calling information. You may also want to call your state Child Welfare Agency and ask them about shelters.
