Regarding adoptions from this foreign country:

Bolivia is currently closed to adoptions by US citizens. Bolivia ratified the Hague Convention on Intercountry Adoption in January 2002. Bolivian adoptions have ceased between countries that have not yet implemented the Convention and, as of the time of this update (Jan. 2007), the United States has not yet implemented the Convention. Due to the current restrictions on intercountry adoptions in Bolivia, there are currently no licensed adoption agencies in Bolivia handling the adoption of Bolivian children by U.S. citizens.

The governmental authority responsible for adoption matters in Bolivia is the Vice-Ministry of Gender and Generational Affairs(Viceministerio de Género y Asuntos Generacionales), which may be reached via the following contact information:
