Our Agency, Adoption Services, Inc. can help you with a domestic adoption, but we are no longer doing international adoptions due to problems that can occur in any international adoption. We are a fully licensed non-profit adoption agency that helps birth parents and families living in any state in the U.S. and we can also help U.S. citizens living in any foreign country. Since our founding in 1985, we have worked with thousands of birth parents and adopting families from all over the world and our overall satisfaction rating is excellent. We are committed to putting your needs first and to helping you in every way possible. Feel free to contact us or call (toll-free 1(800)943-0400) if you have any questions or if you want our guidance or help. All calls are confidential and there is never any obligation or cost to you for our help.
Regarding adoptions from this foreign country:
The process for international adoptions in El Salvador can be lengthy and complicated for prospective adoptive parents. The Salvadoran authorities responsible for administering adoptions are aware of the difficulties posed by the current process but disagree on whether current procedures should be amended. Some local officials are attempting to streamline the current adoption process, but others prefer to leave current practices unchanged. This causes the country's procedures to be applied inconsistently, and the experience of one adopting couple or parent may not be the same as that of any other couple or adopting single parent
The U.S. Embassy in San Salvador maintains a list of attorneys known to provide adoption services in El Salvador.
