Shelters for pregnant women and their babies in the U.S. and in Canada (Acws.ca) are provided by both government and private agencies. Many are run by volunteers through local religious organizations. You may be able to find local women's shelters in your phone book or by calling information.

Your state child welfare agency can also help protect you and your child.
